All of which was hotly debatedvery recently, well here is the answer!!

The Original Bulmers Company, founded in Hereford in 1887, is the first an original cider manufacturer. It also make other brands such as Strongbow,Woodpecker and Scrumpy jack.

Magners is actually from a company started by William Magner in 1935 who joined forces with the above Bulmers. Together they made and marketed Bulmers Original Vintage Cider in Ireland. 1949 Manger left and H P Bulmers took control, then a few more changes before now being owned by C&C.

H P Bulmers still own the international copyright to the name Bulmers therefore the Irish Cider uses its founders name for export.
